Hook fastenings; catches, spring.-A fastening for attachÚ cases in which a pivoted hook-member extends clear of its casing and automatically engages a catch-plate on the lid, is provided with a tongue-like extension of the casing to act as a guide for the catch-plate when engaging the catch. The hook or catch 1 pivoted to the casing at 2, has a pointed head 4 lying under the tongue 22 integral with the casing. When the lid of the case is closed, the catch plate 20 on it comes down over the tongue 22, which enters the hole 21. The pointed head 4 of the catch also enters the hole 21, being deflected until the shoulder 5 can snap into engagement with the part Z of the catch plate. The catch has a projection 11 engaging a projection 10 on a key-operated bolt 9 when this is moved into operative position. The catch is released by a stud secured to it and working in a slot in the casing.
