Abstract

216,685. Dumbell, T. A., and Kirby, A. G. May 17, 1928. Hasp fastenings.-The bolt C of a hasp fastening has an abutment c against which a handoperated sliding blocking plate D can be brought by a knob d protruding through a slot in the side wall of the casing. The blocking catch D has side extensions e and a part f which engages the bolt. The part f is inserted through a slot in a blade spring P and secured by a peg h which also acts as a distance piece from the cover plate and prevents withdrawal of the catch from the casing. The spring keeps the catch in either of its positions by frictional engagement with the peg. A projection k further prevents the catch from being withdrawn from the slot in the casing. Upstanding lugs j on the casing prevent the catch from moving sideways.
