Abstract

392,681. Hasp fastenings. CHENEY, C. W., Factory Road, Soho, Birmingham, Feb. 16, 1932, No. 4524. [Class 44.] A fastening for an attachÚ case has the hand-operated part f of the blocking device revolubly mounted upon the peg d<2> rigidly attached to the bolt d, and the knob or cover g holds the part f against the front plate a. The spring e operates between one edge of the slot d<4> in the bolt and an abutment c<2> of the back-plate c. The projections g<2> of the cover g are clinched behind the bolt so that the knob g, blocking part f, and bolt d can slide together. Normally the deep wall f<2> of the blocking device rests against the abutment a<4> and so prevents any sliding movement of the bolt. When the part f is rotated to its alternative position the wall f<2> moves away from the abutment a<4> and the bolt can then be withdrawn. In a modification the part f is provided with an elongated finger grip, and in another modification the part f is operated by a key.
