Abstract

Hasp locks and ,fastenings; stud-andslot fastenings. - In a hasp lock or fastening for cases, the hasp is secured to the body of the case by a stud engaging a key-hole slot. Fig. 2 shows the keyhole slot 4 formed in the hasp 3 and adapted to engage a headed stud 8 carried by a spring-pressed slide operated to bring the head of the stud into alignment with the large part of the keyhole slot, by a fingerpiece 10. The slide is locked by a bolt operated 'by a key inserted into the keyhole 14. The keyhole 14 may be below the hasp which then has a slot to allow the key to enter. The keyhole slot may be horizontally disposed in the hasp, in which case the head-carrying slide moves horizontally and is operated by the button 16. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the stud 8 is fixed to the casing 5 and the keyhole slot 4 is formed on a member 3a slidably mounted on the hasp 3 and normally pulled upwards by a spring. In this case, the locking bolt enters the eye 19 which fits into the slot 20 in the casing. The stud may be carried by the sliding plate. 3<a> and the keyhole slot punched in the casing 5.
