Abstract
637,149. Multiple fastenings; locking bars. COAKLEY, F. J. May 25, 1948, No. 14115. [Class 44] In a locking bar for doors, of the type described in Specification 590,723, and comprising a bolt e, Fig. 1, coupled to a locking bar g by a member h formed or provided at its free end with coupling means, the other end of the bar having guiding means, e.g. a sleeve u, the coupling means and the guiding means are easily releasable. In one form the coupling means comprises a pin j<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 4, on the bolt e which engages in a hole in the turned over upper end of the member h, and the guiding sleeve u, Fig. 1, is hinged to a plate q secured to the door frame. The sleeve may alternatively be fixed to the door. In another form, a headed stud on the bolt may engage in a keyhole slot in the member h. In a further modification, the upper end of member h, Fig. 8, is formed as shown, the part h<SP>2</SP> engaging in a slot in the bolt.
