638,197. Multiple fastenings. COAKLEY, F. J. May 25, 1948, No. 14116. [Class 44] A safety bar for doors, of the kind described in Specification 590,723 is adapted for use with double leaf doors by making the bar in two parts g, g<SP>1</SP> adapted to be automatically coupled together when the door is closed. In one construction, a pin z on the bar g carried by one leaf a enters a recess y at the end of the bar g<SP>1</SP> carried by the first closed leaf al ; when the bolt e is shot, the connected ends of the bars are located under the strap n. In another form, Fig. 4, the adjacent ends of the bars are rebated, to overlap, and a horizontal pin z<SP>1</SP> on one bar enters a hole y<SP>1</SP> in the other.
