Abstract

334,988. Berkeley, L. E. D. July 5, 1929. Sliding bolts; multiple fastenings for doors.- A barrel-and-socket bolt is arranged parallel and operatively connected to a mortice bolt. The mortice bolt 17 lies behind the bolt 10 and is connected by an arm 18 engaging a slot in the back-plate 20. One or both bolts may be locked by a thumb-screw 12 engaging a screwed socket 8 secured to the door 15. The screw 12 may carry one or more chains 11 secured permanently or detachably to the plate 20 or another plate on the door.
