631,012. Bolt sockets ; striking plates. STANMORE SPRINGS, Ltd., and EDSON, A. D. June 20, 1947, No. 16400. [Class 44] A socket for a bolt or latch-bolt comprises a box-like housing having a slotted cover plate, and an adjustable block enclosed within the housing, formed to receive the bolt. The housing 3 has a rectangular recess 4 within which is a block 9 having a hole 10 for the head of the bolt. Passing through the block is a bolt 11 of such length as to fit closely in the recess 4. By removing the block and turning the bolt 11 the position of the block in the housing may be adjusted. The block is retained by a slotted cover plate 5 secured by screws 7. In the case of a latch, the flange of the housing 3 and the cover plate 5 may be curved. Two bolts at right angles may be provided for adjustment in two directions.
