Abstract
409,873. Hook fastenings. BARNES, L. J., Austral House, Fisher Road, Dee Why, New South Wales, Australia. March 6, 1933, No. 6719. [Class 44.] A fastening for straps, braces and shoes consists of a flat bar 1 connected by a neck 2 to an attachment plate 3 and cooperating with hooks 4, 5 on an attachment plate 6, engagement or disengagement of the bar 1 being possible only when it is held at a particular angle. The neck 2 engages between the hooks 4, 5 to prevent endwise movement of the bar 1. One attachment plate 3 or 6 may be provided with slots 12, 13 and prongs 16 to connect it adjustably to a strap and the other attachment plate may be formed with a hook part 7 for permanent attachment to a watch or it may consist of a flat strip which is attached to a strap by stitching. Alternatively both plates may be permanently secured by prongs which are passed through the strap &c. and clinched down. As applied to braces, one plate is adjustably mounted on the usual webbing while the other plate is slotted to receive the usual tabs.
