[Class 44] [See also Group VII] A strap fastening comprises a buckle 15 for adjustably securing one end of a strap and a separately formed fastening member in the form of a loop 35, Fig. 1, or a hook 45, Fig. 3, secured to the rear face thereof for engagement with a hook 31 or an eye 47 carried by the other end of the strap or by another strap. The fastening member 35 or 45, which is made by bending wire or strip to the desired shape, is secured to the buckle by bending the ends 36 around a cross-bar 17 or by welding them to the frame adjacent the cross-bar. The hook or loop fastening may be applied to prongless buckles. The second fastening member may be formed of wire, strip or cast metal.
