Abstract
859,150. Buckles. WALKER Ltd., T. Nov. 9, 1959 [Nov. 27, 1958], No. 38248/58. Class 43 A cast off buckle comprises a buckle frame I having an end bar carrying a substantially planar sheet metal extension plate 3 which is integrally joined at the end remote from the frame to a transversely extending lay band and which also has a portion intermediate the frame and lay band pressed from out of the general plane of the plate and fashioned to form an integrally joined hook, tongue 8 or eye part for detachable engagement with a complementary hook and eye member carried by the non-adjustable end of the belt, the sheet metal of the extension plate being slit or sheared to form at least two opposite free edges of the pressed out portion. The rest of the hook may have a cranked portion 9 joining the hook to the cranked end bar 10 of the plate. Bent over flanges 4 on the plate 3 extend to parallel arms 5 integral with a cross-bar 6 of the lay band. The eye may be formed as a slot 14 in a bent end of the plate which has two curved slits 12. A bridge piece made by slitting the plate and pressing up the metal may form the eye.
