Abstract

198,897. Printz, C. H. May 22, 1922. Attaching watch chains to wearing-apparel.- The chain of a watch carried in the trousers' pocket is attached to the waist belt by providing the belt with a fitting 8 having a depending U- shaped lip 4 in which the watch chain bar 12 passed through an opening 5 rests. The fitting, which may be ornamented, comprises a rectangular housing bent from a strip, one end 10 being passed through a slot 5<1> 'and folded up against the back 6 to lie in a depression 11, Fig. 3. The other end is bent to form the lip which is bulged at 14 to accommodate the central eye-carrying member on the bar 12. The 'back plate of the housing has prongs 16 which engage the belt to prevent slipping.
