[Class 44] A stocking and like suspender grip comprises a plate a having a trapezoidal aperture the side and bottom edges of which are rebated on the rear face at i, and a co-operating plate like member b with rebate k at the front face. Plate a is secured to a loop e by a strap d passing through a slot f, and member b is secured by a tape c of such length that it is not in tension when in use. The stocking &c. is placed over the front face of member a and member b is then worked through the aperture, together with the intervening stocking &c. fabric, and the rebates are brought into register. Release is effected by simple pull on the stocking &c. in a described manner which effects a preliminary rocking movement of plate b in its own plane, subsequent escape of plate b from the aperture in plate a being facilitated by provision of rounded edges at the upper corners r of plate b and a notch q in the lower edge of the aperture. In a modification the notch q is provided at the upper edge of the aperture and in a further modification a registering notch is also provided in the upper edge of plate b. Fig. 8 shows the attachment of tape c by passing through slots l, m and pressing in the central cross-bar to effect permanent grip, the attached tape lying in recesses n, o, within the thickness of the plate.
