[Class 34 (ii)] In a drying-chamber, leakage of hot air at the openings through which wallboards, cellulose, veneer, &c. to be dried are discharged on conveying webs, is reduced by providing at the discharge openings 10 an additional chamber 12 collecting the leaking air and returning it by a fan to the drying chamber. A fan 3 circulates drying air through a duct 4 into countercurrent movement along the material to be dried moved by roller conveyers 7 in the drying chamber, and air leaking at 10 into the additional chamber 12 is returned by duct 13, which may also have a fan 15, to the fan 3. Rollers 8 at the discharge openings 10 are adjustable.
