Abstract

773,908. Drying paper. LECKNER, B. V. Jan. 6, 1955 [Jan. 12, 1954], No. 405/55. Class 96. [Also in Group XIII] A hood 3 closely encompassing a paper web passing about a drying cylinder delivers hot, dry air from an intake 13 through nozzles 16 in ducts 14 which are positioned alternately with suction channels 17 having perforated plates 18 for withdrawal of moist air which is exhausted through an outlet 12. The hood may be formed of sections, joined at 24, to facilitate assembly &c. Cover-plates 23 &c. which minimize air leakage are detachable to facilitate cleaning. Inspection windows 25 are fitted, and heatexchangers may be employed. The nozzles 16 may be adjustable.
