496,866. Coating to facilitate drawing &c. METALLGES. AKT.-GES. May 24, 1938, No. 15503. Convention date, June 1, 1937. Addition to 494,830. [Class 83 (iv)] In a process for treating metal prior to a drawing or other operation not involving the use of cutting tools as described in Specification 494,830 and when using a phosphate bath for the treatment of iron or zinc, an oxidizing agent is added to the bath. The oxidizing agent is preferably a nitrate but nitrites or sulphites may be used.
