[Classes 52 (i) and 52 (ii)] In an arm-chair of the kind in which the seat is hinged at the front to a base frame and supported by springs, the springs l are connected between U-shaped brackets m, mounted on the base d and disposed within the arms of the chair, and plates or boards o carried by the lower framework n of the arms. A flap f extends across the back of the seat and is hinged thereto so that it may either rest on the base d to prevent depression of the seat, or may be raised by means of a cord h to permit free springing of the seat.
