428,859. Chairs, settees, &c. GARRETT, W. C., 39, Hamilton Crescent, Palmers Green, London. March 1, 1934, No. 6359/33. [Class 52 (ii)] A chair or settee of the type in which the seat portion is adapted to pivot about or adjacent its front edge and is resiliently mounted at the rear is provided with helical compression springs 17 enclosed in the arms of the chair carried on bars 19 in the chair frame, rods 20 depending from the upper ends of the springs to support the rear of the seat member 14, the front of which is hinged or pivoted in the frame. The back 22 may be rigidly secured to the fixed frame, or may be fixed to and move with the seat.
