508,591. Adjustable seats. BOLISTON, G. C. Jan. 24, 1938, No: 2280. [Claas 52 (ii)] A chair, or settee is provided with a seat 11 supported on pivoted or hinged struts 6, 7 capable of swinging forwards and downwards, and arranged so that they are vertical orapproximately vertical when the seat is in its raised rearward, position, the seat being controlled by a spring 17 which tends to, move it rearwardly. Preferably the struts are so arranged that in the lower position of the seat the latter is inclinod downwardly from front to rear, e.g. the rear struts 7 may bo shorter than the front struts. The seat covering 12 may have an extension 13. connected to the back frame.
