Abstract
404,553. Chairs. HELLER, M., 33, Burggasse, Vienna. July 4, 1933, No. 18950. [Class 52 (ii).] In a chair having a seat-frame b pivoted at its front edge, the rear part of the seat-frame is suspended on elastic tensile members such as prings e attached at their upper ends to the upper transverse member d of the back of the chair. Rubber cords may be used instead of springs. The transverse member d may itself be resiliently supported, as in the case of a chair frame of steel tubing such as that shown. In seats for vehicles, a second set of springs e<1>, Fig. 3, may be provided connecting the back of the seat frame to the lower framework of the seat, both sets of springs being initially stretched.
