[Class 97 (i)] In a lens system corrected for spherical and chromatic aberrations, astigmatism, and coma, and consisting of two single convergent menisci enclosing between them two single divergent, menisci, the concave surfaces of all the menisci being turned towards the diaphragm placed between the divergent lenses, the front posi. tive lens is made of crown glass there. fractive index of which is at least 1À62 and exceeds that of the rear positive lens. The total vertex length of the system does not exceed one-seventh of the focal length. Data are given for the example shown, having an aperture F /8.
