Abstract

485,096. Lenses. WARMISHAM, A., and KAPELLA, Ltd. Nov. 13, 1936, No. 30978. [Class 97 (i)] A photographic objective corrected for spherical and chromatic aberrations, coma, astigmatism, and distortion, comprises three convergent components separated by airspaces, each component having its external surfaces of unequal curvature and presenting the surface of shorter radius towards the longer conjugate. The two outer components aro preferably compound and the inner component may be simple or compound. When the compound components are doublets, the element in each on the side of the longer conjugate preferably has a lower refractive index and a higher Abbe number than the element with which it is compounded. Data are given for the example shown, having a relative aperture f /0À9.
