Abstract

486,191. Oil engines. SOC. ANON. DES AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT. Nov. 25, 1937, No. 32474. Convention date, Nov. 25, 1936. [Class 7 (iii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] The plunger 11 of a fuel-injection pump is operated from a cam 2, which operates the engine exhaust or admission valve. The plunger is operated through the medium of a lever 8, pivotally mounted on an eccentric portion 9 of a spindle 23, which can be oscillated by means of a crank arm 25, in order to vary the timing of injection.. As shown the arm 25 is connected by means of a link 26 to one arm of a bell-crank lever 27, the other arm of which carries the pivot 29 of a lever 30. One arm of the lever 30 can be manually adjusted by means of a Bowden wire 32, while the other arm rests on a cam 31, rotatable by means of a pressure or centrifugal governor, or by the engine accelerator.
