483,034. Vibratory mechanism. DEHN, F. B. (Losenhausenwerk D³sseldorfer Maschinenbau Akt.-Ges.) Oct. 10, 1936, No. 27572. [Class 80 (iv)] Directed oscillatory forces are produced by mounting a rotary mass at one end of a pendulum arm and absorbing the forces which are at right-angles to the arm. In the device shown in Fig. 1, a motor 1 carries an unbalanced mass 2 the effect of which is to produce utilizable forces, indicated by the arrows 16, at the pivot 4. In the device shown in Fig. 3, the motor is connected with a housing 12 by springs 13, 14 the arm 10 being horizontal. Horizontal forces are produced at the pivot 11 in this case. A further form is similar to that shown in Fig. 1, except that the pivot is placed at the apex of a triangular frame mounted on a base, which is thus subjected to the vertical forces.
