Abstract
871,321. Screening apparatus. WESTFALISCHE MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. April 3, 1959 [May 27, 1958], No. 11343/59. Class 117 Vibrating screening apparatus, wherein the angle of throw and shape of vibration of the screen are determined by the position of an eccentric weight 3c on a crankshaft 3b comprises a screening box 1 supported by oblique links 4 on a carrier frame 2 mounted on springs 5, the screening box being driven from the shaft 3b through a crank 3d and connecting rod 3a and the eccentric weight 3c being secured to the shaft 3b in permanently fixed or adjustable angular position. According to the position of the weight 3c, the vibration may be linear or elliptical and the angle of throw may have different values. The apparatus is such that the axis of the crank-shaft intersects the line through the centres of gravity M 1 , M 2 of the screening box and carrier frame, the line being substantially at right angles to the oblique links; the axis of the crank-shaft also intersects the location in that line of the combined centre of gravity S of the screening box and carrier frame; and the eccentric weight is located on the crank-shaft within the range 90 degrees to 270 degrees with respect to the angular position of the crank when the crank pin is nearest to the centre of gravity M 1 of the screening box. The drive motor may be an electric motor.
