Abstract

1,098,193. Sifting material. RUSSELL CONSTRUCTIONS Ltd. April 1, 1965 [April 2, 1964], No. 13601/64: Heading B2H. [Also in Division F2] A machine for sifting or straining has a stationary frame 11, a vibratory frame 17 elastically supported from the stationary frame by first support means in the form of coiled springs 42, 43 permitting relative movement in one direction only and by second support means in the form of rubber bushes 47, 49 permitting relative movement in any direction at right angles to the one direction, a sifting assembly 21 secured to the vibratory frame, and a motor-driven out-of-balance assembly 54 secured to the vibratory frame 17 by means permitting its angular adjustment about two axes at right angles to one another. The axes of adjustment are provided by two pairs of bearings 51, 53 which support the assembly 54 and a square gimbal 52, respectively. Each rubber bush 47 is secured to an elongated plate 41 which separates the springs 42, 43 and is connected by a rod 48 and the lower bush 49 to brackets 50 on the frame 17. The assemlbly 21 is adjustably connected to the frame 17 and has a pair of spaced sieves with a discharge outlet from the space between the sieves for material of intermediate size in addition to outlets above and below the sieves for oversize and fine material respectively. The out-of-balance assembly consists of an electric motor having an adjustable out-ofbalance flywheel at both ends of its casing.
