Abstract

995,550. Suction cleaners. LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. March 28, 1962 [April 4, 1961], No. 11918/62. Heading A4F. In a suction cleaner the motor driven brushing or beating roller 3 is mounted within a nozzle casing for swinging movement with respect to the mouth of the nozzle about a horizontal axis remote from and parallel to the roller axis. The roller 3, which is formed as an eccentric mass, is mounted at the free ends of rock levers 8 and secured by clamping springs 16, while the other ends of the rock levers are bent over and mounted between rubber members in bearing slots 7 of journals 6. Horizontal lugs 18 secured to the levers 8 are interposed between stops 11 mounted on brackets 13 adjustable by screws 10, to limit adjustably the amplitude of oscillation of the levers. In an alternative embodiment the roller 3 is mounted on resilient oscillating arms clamped at their ends, and in another the rock levers are oscillated with variable amplitude by two rotatable co-axial eccentrics.
