702,901. Electromagnetic vibrators. STEWART, D. A., HUNKING, A. L., and WESTOOL, Ltd. Feb. 9, 1951 [Dec. 9, 1949], No. 31727/49. Class 35. In an electromagnetic vibrator, the mass of the vibratory armature a and the modulus of the springs supporting it are both adjustable. The armature mass is adjusted by means of weights h, h<SP>1</SP> secured to it by a stud g and nuts i, j. The armature travel is limited by adjustable stub pins p. In one form, Fig. 4, the spring lengths are adjustable by screwing various amounts of their turns into nuts U at the end of the spindles d<SP>2</SP>. In a modification, Fig. 2, the armature is supported on leaf springs S, S<SP>1</SP> whose lengths are adjustable by means of slidable pedestal supports t. Specification 566,493 is referred to.
