Abstract

745,518. Sifting apparatus. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and SHERWEN, J. W. July 1, 1953 [July 16, 1952], No. 18008/52. Class 117. [Also in Groups XXIV and XXX] In electromagnetic vibrating equipment for screens of the kind described in Specification 664,720, the vibrating equipment is disposed between two flexible members, e.g. leaf springs, by which the spring beam is attached to the screen. The spring beam, Fig. 1, consists of two parallel spaced apart steel tubes 40 carried by blocks 41 which are attached to leaf springs 42 connected to supporting members 5 for the screen 1. The armature 12 of the electromagnetic vibrator is mounted at the centre of the beam. The core 6 and coil of the vibrator are supported by the members 5. In a modification the positions of the weights 11 and springs 42 are interchanged and two vibrators are used, each of which is disposed between a weight and a spring. The two vibrators may be replaced by a single centrally arranged vibrator. Specification 663,627 is referred to.
