July 24, 1933, No. 20844. Convention date, March 3. [Class 35] [See also Group II] Screening-apparatus comprises a rigid screen frame 3, Fig. 1, of rectangular shape supported by a number of springs and actuated by electromagnetic devices disposed at the corners of the screen. In the construction described the crossbar at each end of the screen extends into casings 23, Fig. 3, carried on the base structure and housing electromagnets 24. The ends of the crossbars carry armatures 20 and are floated between supporting springs 21 and upper springs 25 which are adjustable to control the amplitude of vibration. The screen frame is disposed in an inclined position in use and is held against longitudinal movement by resilient ties 15 clamped to the base structure at 16.
