[Class 46] [Also in Group II] Vibrating apparatus, such as a nest of screens 19 mounted between end plates 9 by rods 7 and nuts 8, or apparatus for de-watering or agitating materials, is mounted by means of adjustable compression springs 13, 14, 15 on a mass 1, which is constrained by leaf springs 2 to vibrate under the action of a rotating unbalanced weight 4. The rods 7 extend loosely through the mass 1 and at their lower ends have adjustable rubber pads 10; adjustable stops 16 with rubber pads 17 are also mounted on the mass 1 between it and the vibrating mass. Adjustment of the spring support and the pads determines whether the vibrating apparatus receives a concussive impact at either or both ends of each stroke of the mass 1.
