Abstract

480,554. Resilient supports. DEUTSCHE EDELSTAHLWERKE AKT.- GES. March 19, 1937, Nos. 8182 and 8183. Convention dates, March 25, 1936 and Jan. 26, 1937. [Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] A casting mould is arranged on a spring- supported table so that the whole forms a vibration system having a frequency within the audible range and is vibrated in or out of resonance during pouring or setting or both and, if desired, also during melting in the mould. The moulds 1, 2 are secured to a table 4 supported by rubber buffers or steel springs 5 on a counterweight 7 which rests on rubber buffers 6 or the like, the table being vibrated by a single or two coupled unbalanced members 8 rotated in opposite directions by a motor at an adjustable speed. The weight of the member 7 may be a multiple of that of the table 4 and its load. In a modification the vibrator 16, Fig. 2, is mounted on one of a pair of weights 14, 15 on a leaf spring 10 secured at 11 to the table 4 this being supported by springs 5 and counter springs 9.
