[Class 124.] A vibration-producing device comprising a shaft 3 journalled in bearings 4 in a pair of parallel plates 1 and driven by a flexible shaft 5, the shaft 3 carrying between the plates an unbalanced mass 6, is supported by springs 12 within the casing 11 of a percussive tool. A plunger 20 secured to the plates I vibrates in a tube 15 mounted on the casing 11 and imparts blows to a tool 16 held in the end of the tube 15 by a spring 17.
