Abstract
669,126. Reciprocating - machines. STEVENS, A. H. (Syntron Co.). Aug. 11, 1949 No. 20911/49. Class 35. A vibratory motor of the leaf-spring type has a base 1 secured to the object to be vibrated, a vibratory armature 9 accommodated within a vibratory member 10 fixed to base 1 by leafsprings 21 and helical springs 25, 26, and resilient means 36 secured to the base to receive vibrational impacts. Two studs 16 fixed at one end to the base serve to secure the leaf-springs 21 to the base and also to locate and hold the coil-springs 25, 26. The leaf-springs 21 have open-ended slots at their outer ends to receive bolts 15 which hold leaf-spring holders 31, including rubber cushion 32, clip 33 and spacers 30. In a modification, springs 25, 26 are omitted and instead the movable member has a pocket in which weights can be placed so as to determine its natural period of vibration.
