Abstract
894,598. Oscillation machines. PROCHAZKA, M., and NAVRATIL, M. Dec. 17, 1958 [Dec. 30, 1957], No. 40749/58. Class 35. In a vibration generator for testing articles, pressure of fluid, e.g. air, in either of two chambers 10 or 11 is arranged to pre-stress the vibrator output pin 5, or to support the weight of the article. The volume of the chambers is comparatively large so that it changes little under vibration to keep the spring effect to a minimum; thus the natural frequency of the system is unaffected. The fluid pressure is variable and is transmitted to the pin via flexible, e.g. rubber diaphragms 22, 23 and rigid members 8, 9. Springs 6, 7 serve to locate the pin only. Attached to the pin is a moving coil 4 disposed in the gap between polepieces 2, 3<SP>11</SP> of an assembly which includes a permanent magnet 1. A vibration pick-up is provided comprising three stationary coils 12, 13, 14 and a permanent magnet 15 in the pin 5. The unit is pivotally supported in bearings 17, 18 and may be locked in any position by nuts 20, 21.
