Abstract

[Also in Groups XXIV, XXX and XXXII] In a vibratory mechanism for reciprocating, for example, a material feeding pan 1 with respect to a frame 2, the reciprocable mass is connected by means of a spindle 6 to one or more spring diaphragm discs 17 secured at their peripheries to the frame 2. The number and strength of the discs is arranged so that the assembly is in resonance with the reciprocations of the motor unit which may be an electromagnetic one with its armature 29 secured to the spindle 6 and working between electromagnets 28. A leaf spring 32 may also be provided to support the armature in addition to the discs 17. The discs are preferably thickened at their centres and peripheries where they are secured, or alternatively, spacing rings may be provided with plain flat discs. The discs may have radial slots to allow of assembly transversely over the spindle 6.
