Abstract
668,683. Sieves. SMIDTH & CO. AKTIESELSKAB, F. L. April 3, 1950 [April 2, 1949], No. 8348/50. Class 117 [Also in Group XXX] A vibrating conveyer or screen, Fig. 2, comprises a vibrating body 2 which is vibrated by an angularly-oscillating electromagnetic vibrator 1, the vibratory movement passing through a member 5 which is resilient and is rigidly connected both to the body and to the rotor of the vibrator. The conveyer (or screen) 2, Fig. 2, is vibrated by the rotor 50 of vibrator 1 the rotor being supported by bar 6 supported by springs 7 and being connected to conveyer 2 by leaf spring 5. Spring 7 may be leaf springs, or may be omitted. The rotor 20, Fig. 7, of the vibrator is fixed on spindle 13 fixed at 15 to oscillate torsionally and is secured by bracket 11 and spring 5 to the conveyer, the stator 19 being secured to base 21. The spindle 13 may be supported additionally in two bearings; or it may be secured at one end only and be rotatably mounted towards the other end in one or two bearings. The rotor is furnished with a four-pole permanent magnet and the stator is energized to provide four alternating poles by A.C. current. Alternatively, the permanent magnets may be static and the alternating poles may be on the rotor. The permanent poles may be electric-induced, and all poles may be positioned on the stator, the rotor being a squirrel cage.
