Abstract

482,918. Electromagnetic relays. WESTON ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENT CORPORATION. Feb. 8, 1937, No. 3707. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1936. [Class 38 (v)] The pointer 4 of an instrument-type relay carries a contact 7 of magnetic material adapted to bridge contacts 8, 9 constituting opposite poles of permanent magnets. The contacts 8, 9 may be engaged simultaneously in succession, in which case one of them may constitute an arcing contact. The contacts 8, 9 are carried by a bar 10 which may be of iron so that a substantially-closed magnetic circuit is produced when the contacts are in engagement. The contacts 8, 9 may be connected either in series or parallel in a load circuit and a pusher 16 may be provided for separating the contacts after engagement. Specifications 430,864 and 444,777 are referred to.
