Abstract
580,278. Electromagnetic switches. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., July 3, 1944, No. 12662. Convention date, July 12, 1943. [Class 38 (v)] An electromagnetic switch 7 is associated mechanically and electrically with an electromagnetic relay 12 of greater stability under shock. In the form shown in Fig. 1 the relay 12 has two movable cores 13 and 14 linked at 21 so that they must move together into or out of the coil and when de-energized, a lever 25 positively prevents the switch 7 from closing under shock. A suitable circuit arrangement is shown in Fig. 3. Depression of a push 36 energizes the coil 12 of the relay causing the closure of contacts 19, 20 and 37, 38, thereby establishing a circuit through the coil 7 of the electromagnetic switch and a maintaining circuit through the relay coil 12. The relay contacts will remain closed under shock so that should a shock open the switch contacts 2, 5, they will immediately re-close. Loss of voltage however will cause the relay contacts to open and therefore also the switch contacts. Specification 580,279 is referred to.
