Abstract

512,735. Electromagnetic switches. BROOKHIRST SWITCHGEAR, Ltd., and LANCELEY, C. May 14, 1938, No. 14437. [Class 38 (v)] The electromagnet 3 of a contactor 10 for alternating current of say 500 volts has in addition to its main operating winding 4 a secondary winding 12 which by a step-down transformer action illuminates a low-voltage lamp 8 for indicating or other purposes when the contactor is closed. When a "start" button 5 is depressed the circuit to the winding 4 is completed and the contactor in closing closes' a maintaining circuit at contacts 13. The lamp 8 also lights up. The contactor is opened by a " stop " push button 6.
