Abstract
621,770. EIectromagnetic switches. ELECTRO METHODS, Ltd., BUTCHER, F. E., and WALDSCHMIDT, F. Dec. 31, 1946, No. 38100. [Class 38(v)] A shock-proof relay or relay assembly has two moving contacts 12, 13 which move in opposite directions when the relay is energized but in the same direction under shock. In the form shown, energization of the coil 2 causes attraction of the two armatures 8, 9 and closing of contacts 12, 14 and 13, 15 arranged in series with one another. When de-energized shock could not cause simultaneous closing of these contact pairs. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the contacts pairs are normally closed and arranged in parallel so that shock would only open one pair and the circuit would remain closed.
