Abstract

1308508 Electromagnetic switches ARROWHART Inc 27 July 1970 [28 July 1969] 36262/70 Heading H1N Two electromagnetic contactors 10, 12 are interlocked, so that only one may be operated at a time, by an assembly having pins 40 slidable axially in holes in the contactor housings and movable into the paths of projections 25 of the armatures of the contactors. When a contactor armature 22 is attracted to its electromagnet a cam member 23 on the armature engages a roller 44 to move the interlock assembly away from the operated contactor so that the respective pins move under projections 25 of the other armature. On de-energization springs 46 restore the interlock assembly to its midposition. If the second contactor is energized its projections 25 clamp the pins 40 under them so that both contactors need to be de-energized before the second contactor can be operated.
