1383072 Attracted armature relay ALLIED CONTROL CO Inc 29 March 1972 [27 Aug 1971] 14793/72 Heading H1N A "low profile" relay has a flat elongate armature 56 mounted on but insulated from spring hinges formed by a resilient flat member 60 or by such a member divided into two at 68 (S-S) and secured to lugs 80 of a terminal member 72. The armature 56 co-operates with faces 96 of polepieces 94 of a core 93 surrounded by a coil 92 retained on an insulating base 12 by lugs 40 having projections 42 engaging the core ends. Movable contacts 18 on the ends of member or members 60 co-operate with fixed contacts 20, 22 which fit in slots 36 in the base 12 which also has slots 38 for the terminal ends 78 of the member 60. The relay can be connected for normally open, normally closed and changeover operation and if members 60 and 72 are cut at lines S-S the fixed contacts are not bridged and "two pole" switching can be provided. Two such armatures on opposite sides of the coil may be attracted to the polepieces when the coil is energized (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown).
