[Class 38 (v)] Welding of the contacts in automatic switchgear when large currents are interrupted is prevented by so arranging the form of the contacts and their position in the field of the blow-out electromagnet 3 that an additional contact pressure arises through the resulting electrodynamic force. The horizontal parts of the contact leads 2 are brought into the effective range of the blowing field so that an increase of contact-pressure arises.
