Abstract

605,124. Arc-rupturing in switches. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 14, 1945, No. 33938. Convention date, Dec. 20, 1944. [Class 38 (v)] An insulating arc-chute, such as that described in Specifications 541,612 and 562,429, comprises two moulded side walls 13, 14 having co-operating recesses 22, 23 and 24, 25, the 'former of which receive a conducting support 43 attached to the contact structure at 45, whereas the latter support an arc horn 29 apertured at 31 to receive a supporting bolt 52 for the chute. A magnetic blow-out coil 33 connected between the member 43 and a second arc horn 32 has pole-plates 37 bolted at 38 on the side walls and located by bosses 39 thereon.
