Abstract
479,880. Inductances. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., JOHNSTON, T., and HALLETT, L. W. Aug. 14, 1936, No. 22458. [Class 38 (ii)] An iron-clad inductance formed by a coil mounted on a former 2 and enclosed by a shell of powered insulated magnetic material 3 has its inductance varied by means of an adjustable core 4. As shown the inductance is mounted in an insulating casing 8 with an extension 10 to accommodate the core and adjusting screw 9. In a modification the core 4 may be hollow with a stationary core 7 mounted within it. In a further modification, the core 7 may be adjustable to give finer adjustment. Specification 180,642, [Class 38 (ii)], is referred to.
