Abstract
460,503. Inductances. MICHAELIS, E. July 30, 1936, No. 21075. Convention date, July 30, 1935. [Class 38 (ii)] A high-frequency coil of which the inductance is variable over a considerable range comprises a core having relatively movable parts a, b, d each formed of insulated magnetic particles and so arranged that a variable air gap m is produced internally of the core, there being no variable gap on the external surface of the core. The part a is fixed to an insulating rod e forming a means for mounting the coil on a support g. The part d is either in screw' engagement with the rod e or is carried by an insulating member i in screw engagement with the rod e. The opposing faces of the parts a, d are shaped as shown in order to produce a linear relationship between the movement of the part d and the variations in inductance thus produced. The coil may be wound on an insulating former l.
