477,406. Cathode-ray tubes; fluorescent screens. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., SZEGHO, C., and TOMES, G. A. R. June 26, 1936, No. 17781. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] [Also in Group XX] In television &c. apparatus of the type in which an image is formed by electron bombardment of a luminescent screen oi a cathode-ray tube or electron-discharge device as described in Specification 475,047, the luminescent screen 1 is transparent or translucent and the image on one side is projected on to the viewing screen by a lens 3, and the image on the other side by a curved mirror 4. In the arrangement shown, the image projected by the lens is on that side bombarded by electrons from the gun 2. This arrangement may be reversed. The mirror 4 may be separate from and mounted on the stem of the cathode-ray tube, and the front of the tube through which the image is projected is preferably flat.
