Abstract

487,241. Cathode-ray tubes. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE. Dec. 16, 1936, No. 34578. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1935. [Class 39 (i)] In a cathode-ray tube for use in a television system wherein the large emissive surface of a cathode 2 is focused on to a fluorescent screen 8 to give an optical image, the whole of the light is projected back from the screen to a reflector 7 within the tube 1, the reflector projecting- preferably by parallel rays-the light out of the tube to a suitable mirror or lens 9. The reflector may be spherical or parabolic in shape and the orifice therein for the passage of the cathode ray is made as small as possible without interfering with the ray. The screen 8 may be at the same potential as an accelerating anode 6 or at a higher potential than this anode. The reflector may produce a concentrating field for the ray. Arrangements such as described in Specifications 420,667 and 457,846 may be used to focus the cathode surface on the screen. Specification 452,148 also is referred to.
