Abstract
462,330. Monogrammic signs.. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., and KEMP, R. J. Sept. 7, 1935, No. 24972. [Class 118 (ii)] [Also in Group XL] The image produced on the screen 2 of a cathode-ray tube A of a television receiver is projected optically by means of a suitable lens system B on to a screen C consisting of a bank of photo-electric cell elements 3, one element 3 being provided corresponding to every picture point to be reproduced. Each element 3 is connected to control one of a corresponding number of light sources 4 composing a further screen D. Each light source preferably consists of a simplified form of cathode-ray tube of small size, Fig. 2, having a fluorescent screen 5 on to substantially the whole area of which a beam 6 of electrons is directed from a cathode 7 through a controlling cylinder 9 and apertured anode 8. Each tube is controlled by the corresponding cell 3 which is in series with a suitable bias source 10 between the cathode 7 and cylinder 9. The cell 3 may be in the form of individual vacuum tube elements or of copper oxide cells.
